Backyard Designs

Im looking for vegetable gardening tips and want to build the perfect vegetable garden. I have found a really good free ebook to get me started at http://www.vegetablegardeninghelp.com but wanted to know if anyone has any design plans for a vegetable garden? Thanks

recently, I had installed an above ground 12 foot diameter pool. the grass has been killed off around the surrounding area, and I have only had time to put a few potted tropical plants in places.
I wont be doing any major work now with summer almost over, but I want to design over the winter something nice to do for next year. A running deck even to the top of the pool isnt an option. but what about one that is 1 foot off the ground? so that it could be walked on, have pool toys sit there and that way my kids and i dont have to walk in the mud around it?
should it be wood or some other material? wood seems like high maintenance. I guess I could just build a landscaping bed but it might get ruined with too muich water when it splashes out and it drains when i clean it once a month.

I am a cheapstake…yes I know. But why pay when there is a chance to get something for free.

I want to do a 3D design (2D if I am asking for the impossible) of the garden of my dreams but the software is so damn expensive. Anyone know any good sites??

I have had a few landscapers out to look at the garden but can’t seem to get accross to them just what I want it like, and my artistic flare is non-existant and the drawings I try to do look really naff.

My backyard is a dirt-lot (since it’s a new home). It’s full of all those rocks and a smattering of nails.

What is usually done about this? Do they have to remove all rocks before doing landscaping? Do they just do landscaping over the rocks?

Just bought a used pool slide, it’s a tad old looking even though it’s in great shape. I would like it to be a soft beige color to go w/ the landscape if possible…..is that even possible?

water sprinkles ran hard water on landscaping rock and now they have the rust from the hard water on them and i NEED TO get the rust color off of them HELP!!!!

I live in Brooklyn NY and there is this beautiful big green leaf tree and it now, since the weather is warm, small white flowers have bloomed.

The leaf’s are very big and a vibrant green color. the lines on the leaf are symetrical.

The flowers are small and white with a delicate black line design in the inside.

What kind of tree is this??

Have been looking for some portable sink solutions, but they are either extremely ugly (plastic and designed for backyards), or extravagant (2.7k+). I’d prefer to avoid having to use a plastic tub or something…
